<aside> 🪓 I (Hannes) started Blumen while completing my graduate work at Stanford University in August of 2022. Having spent my summers before grad school working on farms and ranches in California and Wyoming, I was a bit of an outlier in the computer science department and spent most of my time reasoning about how to improve land development with data and ML. I got to know a lot of land owners and industrial facility operators and learned about the insane regulatory and logistical complexity involved in energy and minerals development. I met several kindred spirits along the way and we built Blumen to solve problems for the people powering (literally) the economy.

We aggregate federal and state geospatial datasets and regulatory documents and build AI systems to give project developers and contractors automated spatial intelligence from site selection to permitting to project development across wind, solar, carbon sequestration, geothermal, hydrogen, and minerals projects.
We believe that by equipping energy developers, engineering and construction firms, and exploration companies with cutting-edge data management and automation tools we can dramatically accelerate the energy transition.
